Improving SERP with Website Theme Structure

Website Theme Structure

Relevancy is a major factor for internet users. When one surf the internet and search through search engines, he or she expects to find the most accurate result or the closest web page content to the phrase they were looking for. It is very important to build the website around a theme and if needed to divide it to several topics. Linking together several content pages that relates to the same subject increase the relevancy score of that website.

LSI stands for Latent Semantic Indexing. LSI represents the algorithm that Google uses for web pages content evaluation. Generally, it means that when Google scan a web page it is trying to identify the subject and evaluates the richness of the content. Google considers richer content within a subject as more valuable. Understanding the LSI concept means that a repeat of one or two key phrases or key words on a page worth much less than providing a rich content that uses many phrases that related to the subject and all together make a complete picture. As you can see, the purpose of this is providing a better user experience while surfing and searching for information in the internet through search engines. Many SEO (Search Engines Optimization) experts say "make website for users not for search engines". I must agree to that, the search engines lead by Google, improve their search algorithm all the time to be more human like. Therefore, if you build your website for your visitors and try to provide them the best user experience that you can, then most likely you will be benefited by search engines organic results as well.

Implementing Subjects Division

So, we understand that we need theme separation inside the website for relevant topics and to have rich content pages according to the LSI model. If we take for instance a website about business. We can see that business is too broad subject, it should be separated to several subtopics like finance, marketing, human resources, business planning etc', even this separation can be divided to more concentrated topics, if we take marketing as an example, it can be divided to branding, advertising etc' and this can go on. Technically the subject division will be by creating directories and the web pages will be under the relevant directory. It is very important to connect the pages in each topic between themselves, make sure there is a linkage between the web pages of the same topic.

To sum things up, web pages content should be related to the theme of your website and to be placed under the most appropriate subject directory. Make content for your visitors and make it rich and relevant as you can. Following the concept presented above will assist you to improve your website place in search engines result pages.
